Description
“La fleche” is a fencing attack of pure commitment. Named after the French words for the arrow, the fencer launches himself/herself through the air at the opponent. It takes timing and distance to land a “hit.” This sketch is based on a photograph of a real fencer. As you can see, his opponent is totally in a defensive posture. After striking him the fatal blow (well, not really – they wear protective clothing), the person fleching has no chance of landing on his feet.
