Ageless Art Blog

The blog was originally meant as a guide to art school, especially for non-traditional older students (like me).

Much like a painting, it evolved into what it wanted to be. A bit of the art school story, a bit of painting and screen printing techniques, and mostly connecting with other artists.

The biggest surprise was whom I've come in contact with because of the blog. People across the world have commented on my work and perspective and, to my delight, shared their work and experience.

Now that I have a studio and time to develop professionally, my "art life" continues to evolve - as will the blog. I am particularly drawn to painting from historical photos and nature, so that will continue to show in the work that I produce.

I was resistant at first to commercializing my work by creating merchandise with my images on them. The turning point was realizing that galleries are nothing more than art stores that cater to the most saleable work. That means there are many interesting artists whose work is not shown.

I am interested in getting art out of the places we visit it - museums & galleries - and into our lives. This art store of mine is my attempt to do just that.
